Cebu City the 3rd time around!

Cebu and Bohol are my second most favorite provinces in the Philippines after Palawan. If going to Bohol we always make sure to drop by at Cebu first to visit Sto Nino Church and of course to eat at our favorite Larsian.

Last Holy week 2014, we started our 6 days Cebu - Bohol vacation in Cebu City arriving there Holy Friday to spend some time praying and offering candles in Magellan's cross and Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino. We arrived Cebu City 5:30 in the morning and we still have time to rest so we immediately checked - in at our preferred budget accommodation, Verbena Pension House.

Verbena Pension house is one of the most budget - friendly hotels in Cebu City that offers room for big groups. If you are coming from Mactan International Airport, taxi fare going to Verbena will cost you 150 - 170php. Just tell the driver that you will stay at the old Verbena or else you will be brought to the new building. We booked the family air - conditioned room for 6pax with 1 double bed, 2 double - decked beds, bathroom/toilet, and television set. This room cost us 3,200php per night inclusive of buffet breakfast for 6. What I really love about this place aside from its wallet - friendly rate, is Verbena's ideal location. It's really near Fuente Circle, Shamrock "Pasalubong stall," Robinson's mall and of course our favorite eating place, Larsian.

Whenever there's a chance I always make sure to stay at least overnight in Cebu. I can't really expound why but there is something about Cebu that keeps me coming back. I just love this province. Actually, Cebu and Bohol are top 2 on my list of favorite provinces in the Philippines because I believe that Cebu and Bohol are equally beautiful in terms of landscape and having some of the best beaches in the country and the world. I will never get tired traveling back to these two wonderful provinces in Visayas region.
